BOBBY CRUSH:

This is a profile I wrote for Gay Times magazine. It was an interesting challenge as it was necessary to tell both Bobby Crush's story, and Liberace's for younger readers who might not know of him.



THREE HELPINGS OF COOKERY:

My loves of broadcasting and cooking have come together many times (see both my radio and TV showreels) and I love to write about it, too. I was thrilled to be elected to the prestigious Guild of Food Writers nearly 20 years ago, other members of which include Antony Worrall Thompson, Raymond Blanc and Delia Smith.

You may have caught me on ITV's BRITAIN'S BEST DISH. I judged and eliminated culinary creations in several heats of both Series 1 and 2, and was invited back as a panelist to both grand finals, the only food critic to be afforded this honour. In early 2009, I shall appear in the same role on the celebrity version, CELEBRITY BEST DISH.



AND ANOTHER THING:

I really enjoy writing opinion pieces: fancy getting paid for getting it off your chest!

It's an ill wind: at least I was able to turn my drubbing at the cruel hands of Ms Robinson into an entertaining article.

I visitied New York to find out what people think about our Michelin guide compared with their Zagat guide.
