TELEVISION:

My appearances on the box have been nothing if not diverse. Here's a small selection.

BRITAIN'S BEST DISH - ITV Series Two ::

I was delighted to be the only food critic to be invited back for Series Two of ITV's Britain's Best Dish. Here I am in action in very august company, alongside The London Evening Standard's Charles Campion and the food writing and broadcasting legend, Sophie Grigson. Sophie and I also returned for the live final with Alex James of Blur. See me here demolishing puddings both literally and metaphorically.

INSIDE OUT TRADITIONAL FOOD - BBC West Midlands ::

I appeared on the West Midlands' edition of BBC1's popular regional news documentary series, extolling the virtues of traditional Black Country foods.

NEWSPAPER REVIEW - BBC News ::

I've reviewed the national newspapers many times on television and radio, including BBC News, Sky News and BBC Radio 5 Live.

INSIDE OUT - BBC1 West Midlands ::

Here's a clip from BBC1's Inside Out West Midlands in which I investigate problems with the buy-to-let property market in city centres, a subject close to my heart, as you will discover...

TELEVISION CONTINUITY - Channel 5 ::

I was one of the team of announcers that launched Channel 5.

LONDON TONIGHT - ITV ::

I appeared on a London news programme talking about the night an earthquake hit the UK.

COME DINE WITH ME - Channel 4 ::

I won Channel 4 iconic dinner party-throwing competition.

GUEST CHEF ON GLORIA'S OPEN HOUSE - Channel 5 ::

I have been a guest cook on Channel 5's Open House with Gloria Hunniford.

THAT'S LIFE - BBC1 ::

Be sure your fashions sins will find you out! This little gem surfaced recently from my first series of That's Life in 1982. The outfit was chosen for me by the show's costume designer who shall remain nameless to spare her blushes. Yes, someone actually got paid to do this to me!

RADIO:

Here's just a selection of my many thousands of broadcasts.

LBC 97.3 FM - Programme Intro ::
LBC 97.3 FM - Current Affairs Discussion ::
LBC 97.3 FM - General Entertainment ::
BBC SOUTHERN COUNTIES RADIO - News & Music ::
BBC RADIO 2 - Ken Bruce Quiz Contestant ::

MUSIC:

Music has always been one of my passions.

STARTING TOGETHER - Su Pollard ::

In 1986 I wrote this smash hit for Su Pollard: I really must write another! In addition to reaching No. 2 in the UK, it charted in several other countries which is surprising, as they didn't see the BBC TV documentary series, "The Marriage", of which it was the theme tune.

MEG IS MAGIC - Bill Buckley ::

Have a listen to my first-ever professional recording! I was a 21-year-old cub reporter in the Black Country at the time when Noele Gordon was sensationally axed by ATV from her role as Crossroads matriarch Meg Richardson/Mortimer.
